Realignment
« on: October 23, 2019, 08:42:53 pm »
Snapshot day is this Friday, October 25th. Lots of speculation as always. I'll be posting comments from Facebook and Twitter from Matt Stepp (Dave Campbell's Texas Football) and others.

The one part of the state I'm watching VERY closely on #SnapShotDay is El Paso...Eastlake and Eastwood could both move to 6A...Chapin is right on the potential D1/D2 cut line..if Chapin drops and EHS/EHS move to 6A only THREE 5A-D1's remain in the 915.. #txhsfb

Only 3 5A D1's in El Paso could cause those schools to seriously consider opting UP to 6A which could create TWO El Paso 6A districts which would create a ripple effect statewide #txhsfb

I'm hearing Tascosa should prepare for a move (to 5A D1)

Amarillo Tascosa reportedly turned in 2186. That number would have put them in 5A D1 at the last realignment. My guess is if Tascosa drops to 5A, we'll see San Angelo Central back in our district.

Lubbock Cooper jumped from 1,516 to 1,851. 335 student increase. They could be 6A in the next realignment in 2 years.  :o

Matt Stepp from DCTF believes the 6A/5A cutoff will be 2205.

Goodbye Tascosa, hello San Angelo Central.
